Crazy Quilt Jacket:

Using a ball style jacket, I used only two cotton fabrics, white and beige, and only one thread color, a metallic gold decorative thread (about 5 spools). The goal of making this jacket was to use "all" the decorative stitches and embroidery motifs that came with my new machine.

Oregon Trail Jacket:

This jacket was made because of all the fun techniques used, such as, perfect pleats, double cording, fringe, strip piecing, fabric weaving, and the quilt block on the back. The jacket was made using black corduroy, 8 colorful cotton fabrics, and ultra suede for the fringe. Ultra suede is a fun fabric to work with since it does not fray and sews easily. The jacket also sports a front zipper and elastic at the wrists.

Festive Christmas Jacket:

Made from a black silk fabric and decorated on the front, back, sleeves, and collar with red and gold metallic thread using a double needle. Medium sized sequins were then sewn on both sleeves and matching covered buttons added. The jacket is lined with a festive red plaid silk Christmas fabric.

Stained Glass Jacket:

Made completely from ultra suede fabric in 5 beautiful colors. Ultra suede is laid flat with the edges butted together for easy sewing. The jacket also sports a front zipper with sweater binding around the base of the jacket, sleeves, and collar.

Crazy Quilt Vest:

Crazy quilt vests are always fun to make! Six coordinating cotton fabrics were cut into various sizes, sewn, and flipped. Black sequined ric-rac was sewn across several of the seams to add interest and matching covered buttons added the finishing touch. The vest back is made from a black rayon and sports a center adjustable belt.

Jimmy Buffett Vest:

I attended a parrothead convention in the Florida Keys and decided to dress for the occasion! A lot of embroidery work was done on this vest. A total of four different parrots were embroidered on the front and back. The green leaves on the back of the vest were made from ultra suede and satin stitched through the center of the leaves giving the impression of leaf veins to give a 3D effect. The vest sports two small front pockets.

The Susan Travel Bag:

This bag holds almost everything! This bag measures 14" X 12.5" X 5" and contains a total of 15 pockets, 9 pockets on the outside of the bag and 6 pockets on the inside. There is a pocket for a newspaper or magazine, cell phone, pens and pencils, coins, eyeglasses, checkbook, medicine, and even a pocket for a water bottle. I created this bag just for traveling. This bag sports 5 beautiful cotton fabrics, is quilted, and contains decorative stitching. Instructions for this bag will be available soon!

Wool Winter Jacket:

I have never been cold in this jacket! This colorful jacket is made from a heavy wool in an Indian print fabric and sports two patch pockets with a (perfectly stitched) blanket stitch, done by hand, around the entire jacket.

Rich Fall Placemats:

I actually made 6 different designed placemats with coordinating fabrics to add variety to the place settings and give the room a cheery atmosphere! Nine cotton fabrics in rich fall colors, in tones of reds, golds, and greens, were used. I used "Log-Cabin-With-A-Twist, "Log Cabin", and strip piecing techniques, going from light to dark fabrics giving a 3D effect.
